While the older version had an integrated battery to provide backup power for up to six hours, the battery built into this new, bigger model can keep the alarm system running for up to 24 hours if there’s a power failure.

Thanks to this battery backup, your home alarm will carry on working even during a power cut. All connected units will still be able to communicate with the central unit (Link) and sound the alarm in the event of any attempted break-ins – and it can now do this for up to 24 hours, which is reassuring if the power stays off for a while.

Go further with multiple sensors and cameras

Smart home alarms are easy to control via an app, giving you plenty of options for configuring the various units in your alarm system. But that’s not all – you can also ramp up your home security even further by adding more sensors. This is quite simple to do: the app offers clear user instructions to guide you through all the steps you need to follow to instal your new sensors.

Installing extra sensors isn’t the only way you can enhance your home alarm system. It’s just as easy to add a security camera too, or even more than one. These can help keep an eye on your home while you’re on holiday, for example, or even if you just want to check in on what your pets are up to while you’re at work. Outdoor cameras can also record whatever they detect while you and your family are fast asleep. If they are linked up to a smart home system, they can even switch on your outside lights to scare off anyone who might be up to no good.
